It is also the only robot we've tested with an onboard reservoir that automatically washes and replenishes the pads for cleaning after each mopping and vacuum cycle.
The mopping arm rests quietly on top of the unit until it detects hard floors, and then it lowers to begin cleaning. It moves slowly across surfaces to avoid accidentally spreading wet spills or mud over carpeted areas. And it does a great job of staying away from furniture, cords and other obstacles.

In terms of navigation In terms of navigation, the M12 uses LiDAR, IR, and 3D structured light to avoid obstacles. Its sensors are adept at picking up larger objects like HVAC vents, and furniture. They may struggle to find smaller objects, such as cables or small rags. This can cause robots to miss areas.
The M12's built-in inclinometer allows it to sense and navigate up and down stairs. It can also be programmed to return to its OMNI station to wash and dry mop brushes and replenish its water tanks. When the batteries run out and the OMNI Station is empty, the OMNI Station is able to clean itself and empty the dust bin when the batteries are depleted.

5. Eufy S1 Pro
The Eufy S1 Pro has been designed as an efficient mop and vacuum combo that is also user-friendly. The gunmetal base station automatically fills its own tank with clean water, then empty the dustbin into a smaller container and washes and drys its own mop pads in between cleaning sessions. It also has a sophisticated feature set that lets it switch between rugs and hard, effectively remove pet hair and dirt from carpets and raised room thresholds.
The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping thanks to the internal dToF system. It can keep a low-profile while still providing the best in object detection. It can drive close to walls and avoid steps without falling. It also automatically raises the mop when driving on rugs or short-pile carpets. However, it struggled a little when encountering longer-pile carpets and some long, thick messes of dried-on debris.

The S1 Pro is ready to be used right from the moment you purchase it, and it only needs an easy mapping session to learn about your home. The map will then be displayed in the app and you can add or merge rooms as needed. You can set virtual boundaries, as well as no-go zones or no-mop zones in case there's something you don't want the robot to be able to touch.
The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up messes from hard floors, thanks to its rotating mop head that exerts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to vacuum and mop makes it a good choice for homes with different types of flooring but its dependence on a Eufy-branded cleaning product (which is included in the box) can make it less flexible than some other robots that allow you to create your own solutions.
