Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. 2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of pads. In addition the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's clever features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have many features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using the manual setting.

It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built.
